As an architectural studio, we abstain from stylistic formulas and instead, approach every project by means of open-ended inquiry.

Striving to listen to people and the environment, we seek to produce enduring works that relate to community and place, culture and nature.

We build dialogue with clients through workshops and surveys, with belief that the partnership in the co-creation process is key to achieve works that encompass values important to them.

“We hope to explore and inspire possibilities by approaching projects outside traditional framework, and be the client’s impetus to challenge the current state; and working together towards an alternative, desired one.”

ISKANDAR IDRIS
Principal Architect
B.A.Arch, M.Arch, B.O.A
Upon graduation with a Master of Architecture from National University of Singapore, Iskandar worked at Formwerkz Architects for five years where he worked on various private residential, commercial and instititional projects some of which had won numerous architectural awards.  Iskandar is a registered architect with the Board of Architects, Singapore.

Iskandar believes that design and architecture has a deep culture of synthesis, informed by values and sense of responsibility to culture, society and ecology.

Having a love for tropical plants, Iskandar enjoys a visit to the garden.  The Sri Lankan garden of Lunuganga Estate by architect Geoffrey Bawa is his favourite and he dreams of having his own garden estate one day.

PATRICK SIAH
Director
B.ENVS (Arch), M. Arch (MELB)

Patrick graduated with an Architectural Master’s Degree from the University of Melbourne in 2012. He dreamt of being an Architect since the age of 7, inspired by Phua Chu Beng, played by Pierre Png from the popular comedy sitcom, Phua Chu Kang.

He believes that Architecture should embody a sensual connection to the user. As his favourite Architect, Peter Zumthor puts it, “In order to design buildings with sensuous connection to life, one must think in a way that goes far beyond form and construction.”

Apart from running projects for Super Assembly, Patrick loves spending time with his wife, son and their golden retriever, Scotty.

ASLAM BIN SALIM
Senior Designer
S. Dip. Architectural Technology (SDAT), BCAA B.A. (Hons) Interior Design GSA

Aslam graduated from Glasgow School of Arts with BA (Hons) in Interior Design in 2018. Prior to specializing in interior design, he was a BCA –Industry Scholar in Diploma in Architecture and SDAT. He has always been very interested in how buildings are "made" and how they "work" since young.

He believes that “Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”. A space should not only be the design intent of the designer. It should be allowed to evolve and morph to the user.

A curious and adventurous individual, he does 3D printing and prototyping at home on his free time. A weekend warrior cyclist and an avid motorcyclist, he is never “too tired”.

YANY CHAN
Designer
B.A. Arch, M. Arch

Having recently graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Master of Architecture, Yany is excited about the possibilities that practice has to offer. She is thrilled about seeing buildings and spaces come to life as they are inhabited, used and lived in.

Yany believes that architecture is the most interesting when it is influenced by all sorts of things outside architecture itself. She is curious to explore how spaces can tell a story.

Outside of architecture, Yany has a passion for baking and eating bread. She lovingly takes care of her sourdough starter regularly and hopes to one day create a beautiful sourdough loaf.

RICHIE CHAN
Designer
Dip. BIT, B.A.Arch(Hons), M.Arch

It all started with imagining his room floor as a city, then dividing it into land parcels (by tile lines) and making hubs, buses and other objects that would run along from LEGO bricks. It made a three-year old happy. Three decades later, he still dreams of making his own heterotopias.

Richie has always been fascinated by how cities operate, are designed and experienced, and what they mean to people. He asks what happy memories the built environment creates and leave behind?

If design and architecture wasn’t his pursuit, he’d most probably be a psychoanalyst. Maybe a classical/broadway singer? Film director? Or maybe everything if he can truly one day become an autodidactic generalist of sorts. Also, he thinks that happiness today is like a win at Wordle. Go on, try it!

RUBINA AW
Designer
Dip. Interior Architecture and Design

Rubina graduated from Temasek Polytechnic in Interior Architecture and Design. Her fascination for architecture and place-making has always been something inherent in her. As a child, she would often wander through her neighbourhood on walks home from school; imagining a stone park bench as a monolithic kitchen island, or a small patch of grass as her own edible garden.

To her, Architecture is more than just the physical built environment. She believes that practising architectural methodologies can inform a way of thinking and living.

She enjoys slow mornings and late-night walks. In her own time, you will find her journaling, penning down short little anecdotes of daily happenings.
