IN-BETWEEN HOUSEWeaving Nature & Structure

In-Between House is conceived as a composition of four cuboid volumes separated by deliberate gaps, which give the house its name and define its unique spatial character. These interstitial spaces host pockets of greenery, water features, and natural light—serving as both visual connectors and spatial buffers that offer privacy while bringing daylight and ventilation deep into the home.

Nature is carefully integrated throughout the architecture: trees pierce through the carport roof and interior floor, blurring thresholds and creating immersive, layered experiences as one moves through the house. At its core, a planted courtyard rises into a skylit atrium, connecting to floating planter boxes that double as a suspended attic garden.

The material palette furthers this dialogue between structure and landscape, with earthy tones, vertical timber veneers, and woven textures evoking a forest-like rhythm. Reddish terracotta cladding used on the exterior continues into the interior, grounding the home in a warm, tactile palette that reinforces the seamless transition between the built and the organic.
